Ans. Too much ambition brings about disaster. Mme Matilda was too much ambitious. She brought about her ruin.Matilda borrowed a super necklace of diamond for the ball from the rich friend Jeanne. That necklace was the cause of Matilda’s ruin at the ball. The loss of the necklace was the cause of Matilda’s ruin.
When Matilda reached her home, she removed the wraps from her shoulders before the glass. Suddenly she found her necklace was not around her neck. When they couldn’t find the necklace, Matilda wrote to her friend that the clasp of the necklace had been broken and it would take time to return the jewel.
They spent thirty-six thousand francs to buy another necklace. Had she confessed that she had lost the necklace at the ball, she would have avoided her ruin.She hid the truth. She lacked the courage to confess the truth and ruined her life.
अत्यधिक महत्त्वाकांक्षा विनाश का कारण होती है। श्रीमती मटिल्डा अत्यधिक महत्त्वाकांक्षी थी। उसने अपना विनाश कर लिया।मटिल्डा ने नृत्य के लिए अपनी धनी सहेली जीनी से हीरों का राजसी हार उधार लिया। वह हार नृत्य में खो गया। उस हार का खोया जाना मटिल्डा के विनाश का कारण बना।
जब मटिल्डा अपने घर पहुँची, तो उसने दर्पण के सामने अपने कंधों से शाल हटाया। उसने अचानक देखा कि उसके गले में उसका हार नहीं है। जब वे हार की खोज नहीं कर सके तो मटिल्डा ने अपनी मित्र को लिखा कि हार का जोड़ टूट गया है और आभूषण को लौटाने में समय लगेगा।
उन्होंने अन्य हार खरीदने के लिए छत्तीस हजार फ्रेंक खर्च किए। यदि वह अपना अपराध स्वीकार कर लेती कि उससे नृत्य में हार खो गया, वह अपने विनाश से बच सकती थी।उसने सच्चाई छिपाई। उसमें सच्चाई स्वीकार करने का साहस नहीं था और उसने अपना जीवन बरबाद कर लिया ।

Ans. Mrs. Loisel was a pretty young woman. She was born in an ordinary family of clerks. But she thought that she was born for delicacies and luxuries. She would not compromise. So she borrowed a necklace from her rich friend Mme Forestier. When she lost it she managed in everyway and sacrificed her aspirations. They changed their lodgings and shifted in attic. She would cook, wash dishes and clothes herself. She would bring water herself. She would do haggling in buying vegetables, fruits and meat. Thus she continued her struggle for ten years to complete her debt.
मिसेज़ लोयज़ल एक ख़ूबसूरत युवती थीं। उनका जन्म क्लर्कों के एक साधारण परिवार में हुआ था। लेकिन उसने सोचा कि वह व्यंजनों और विलासिता के लिए पैदा हुई थी। वह समझौता नहीं करेगी। इसलिए उसने अपने अमीर दोस्त ममे फॉरेस्टियर से एक हार उधार लिया। जब उसने इसे खो दिया तो उसने हर तरह से कामयाबी हासिल की और अपनी आकांक्षाओं का त्याग कर दिया। उन्होंने अपना ठिकाना बदल लिया और अटारी में शिफ्ट हो गए। वह खुद खाना बनाती, बर्तन और कपड़े धोती। वह खुद पानी लेकर आती थी। वह सब्जी, फल और मांस खरीदने के लिए सौदेबाजी करती थी। इस प्रकार उसने अपना कर्ज पूरा करने के लिए दस वर्षों तक अपना संघर्ष जारी रखा।

Ans. Introduction: Matilda was a pretty young lady born by an error of destiny, into the family of clerks.
Why always unhappy: Since she had no dowry and no hopes of being married to a rich man, she allowed herself to be married to a petty clerk. She was simple but she was always unhappy.She suffered because she felt she was born for luxuries which she could never think of indulging in. She suffered from her poverty and whenever she returned after visiting her rich friend Mme Forestier she wept from despair and disappointment because Matilda had neither the frocks nor the jewelry her friend possessed.
Conclusion: Being over ambitious she was never happy.
भूमिका – मटिल्डा सुन्दर युवा महिला थी जो नियति की त्रुटि से लिपिकों के परिवार में पैदा हुई।
सदैव क्यों अप्रसन्न थी—चूँकि उसके पास दहेज नहीं था और धनी पुरुष के साथ विवाह करने की उम्मीद भी नहीं थी। अतः उसने अपना विवाह एक मामूली लिपिक के साथ कर लिया। वह सादगी से रहती थी पर सदैव अप्रसन्न रहती थी।
उसने कष्ट उठाया क्योंकि वह महसूस करती थी कि उसका जन्म विलासिता के लिए हुआ था जिसका आनन्द लूटने का वह विचार नहीं कर सकी। वह अपनी गरीबी से कष्ट उठाती थी और वह जब कभी अपनी धनी मित्र मैडम फोरेस्टियर को मिलकर लौटती थी वह निराश और हताश होकर रोती थी क्योंकि मटिल्डा के पास उसकी मित्र के समान न तो फ्रॉक्स थे और न ही आभूषण।
उपसंहार—बहुत अधिक महत्त्वाकांक्षी होने के कारण वह कभी भी प्रसन्न नहीं रहती थी।

मिस्टर लोयज़ल किस प्रकार के व्यक्ति थे? उन्होंने क्या बलिदान दिए?
Ans. Mr. Loisel was a poor clerk in Board of Education. He wanted to live an ordinary and peaceful life. He had a great love for his wife Mrs. Loisel. He wanted to make his wife happy in all the ways. He had saved four hundred francs to buy a gun so that he might to go to hunt larks with his friends. But he gave it with pleasure to his wife to buy a costume for the ball. When his wife lost the necklace, he showed no anger. He gave his saving of 18000 francs. He even borrowed 18000 francs from the usurers. Thus we can say that he was a good husband.
श्री लोयज़ल शिक्षा बोर्ड में एक गरीब क्लर्क थे। वह एक साधारण और शांतिपूर्ण जीवन जीना चाहते थे। उन्हें अपनी पत्नी श्रीमती लोइसल से बहुत प्यार था। वह अपनी पत्नी को हर तरह से खुश रखना चाहता था। उसने एक बंदूक खरीदने के लिए चार सौ फ़्रैंक बचाए थे ताकि वह अपने दोस्तों के साथ लार्क का शिकार करने जा सके। लेकिन उन्होंने अपनी पत्नी को गेंद के लिए पोशाक खरीदने के लिए खुशी-खुशी दी। जब उसकी पत्नी का हार खो गया, तो उसने कोई गुस्सा नहीं दिखाया। उन्होंने अपनी बचत के 18000 फ्रैंक दिए। उसने सूदखोरों से 18000 फ़्रैंक भी उधार लिए थे। इस प्रकार हम कह सकते हैं कि वे एक अच्छे पति थे।
