The Central Idea
It is a fine and short poem. The poet was in a depressive mood. From a hemlock tree, a crow shakes off the dust of snow on the poet. The snow changes the poet’s mood and makes him happy. He has wasted a part of his day regretting but now with the change of mood, he wants to utilise the rest of the day. The poet wants to convey that sometimes certain moments or actions which seem simple have a larger significance.
